GCL Limited
Connecting today's and tomorrow's business worlds
After the fast growth of recent years, the telecommunications industry and its allied trades have been in the doldrums. Some of the biggest and best-known names have struggled in the last two or three years as the market's debt and decline has resulted in an economic downturn for all concerned.

Within such a limited and competitive marketplace the ability to provide high quality, customer focused services with a well trained workforce has never been greater.

GCL was established to offer a range of cabling services for the telecoms sector and other users. The company is now a highly skilled and competitive organisation within the structured cabling systems industry and in the delivery of electrical and telecommunications services to the work area.

Cabling Systems today are now designed to cater for the multiple application requirements and other voracious bandwidth systems within this increasingly networked world. Demand for bandwidth and throughput are paramount in today's and tomorrow's business environment. Due to the requirement to move people within any area of a network, flexibility and scalability are the key issues associated with any "fixed" cabling infrastructure. Consideration must be given to the services not only required today but also in the future. By implementing a structured cabling system, a company can ensure the right support for the multimedia and high speed switching services today and tomorrow's office.

Since its establishment, GCL has managed to prosper by being not only commercially aware, but lean and flexible enough to adapt to ever-changing customer requirements technologies and regulations. Its emphasis on training to the highest industry standards, the adoption of ISO 9001 quality system and a genuine desire to provide technically efficient and cost-effective solutions for its customers, has kept GCL ahead despite the difficult trading environment. This policy has also enabled it to achieve Certified Installers status for a number of manufacturers, in particular Nexans with their high performance LANmark copper cabling solutions.

GCL consists of a talented team of multi-disciplined individuals with exemplary cabling and electrical skills combined with many valuable years of experience in providing cabling system solutions. This expertise is further enhanced by facilitating Moves, Adds and Changes (MACS services) and thus providing complete connectivity to the desktop after the initial installation has been completed.

Experience gained within the construction, refurbishment and populated office locations has encouraged diversity in GCL's employee's skills and enables deployment within almost any given environment. All members of the company are encouraged to become involved in every aspect of a contract and when the opportunity arises are empowered to become proactively involved.

GCL's ongoing policy is to design and install professional solutions that benefit their client's business activities and so allow them to become more successful. At a more domestic level, GCL would anticipate a gradual improvement over the coming months and into 2004/2005.

As newer and faster systems become more widespread, the need to stay one step ahead cannot be underestimated. As the world looks for new and more efficient ways to communicate between companies and individuals, so it will

follow that cabling and hardware companies will need to maintain awareness and acquire knowledge equally efficiently.

Telecommunications technology is breaking down cultural and geographical obstacles between countries, assisted with the open exchange of spoken, written and pictorial information that is available at a touch of a button. This can only encourage optimism for the future and for the evolution of the human race as a whole.
