Drumgrange Limited
THE INNOVATIVE SOLUTION
Drumgrange Ltd is a thriving independent UK defence contractor that has been specialising in the supply of innovative technical solutions to the defence and civil electronics markets since 1979.
Drumgrange prides itself on the rapid, cost-effective realisation of demanding design tasks, the quality of its products and the delivery of solutions and services on time and to specification. Drumgrange is located at two sites: the head office at Chertsey and a support base in the Southwell Business Park on Portland, Dorset. The company's areas of expertise include the design, development and manufacture of hardware, software and firmware in the following areas:
. Intercept and HF passive sonar systems
. Radio communications: data links, VLF and VHF/UHF
. Telecommunications systems, digital telecommunications and exchanges
. Minewarfare command support systems
. Electronic warfare systems
. Precise time and frequency systems
. Simulators and trainers.
The company offers a broad range of services, including turnkey project management, integrated logistics support, ship/submarine fitting and installation, marine communications systems, trials and evaluation, sonar modelling and UKAS-approved transducer calibration.
Drumgrange has long been associated with the development and implementation of passive sonar systems. The current intercept sonar uses the latest processing hardware and display developments. A new high sensitivity HF passive sonar has been developed for use with flexible array configurations. Both sonars are in service in Royal Navy submarines.
Expanding upon the company's proven submarine sonar processing technology, Drumgrange has developed GOLDFISH - a surface ship sonar threat-detection system that detects both passive and active underwater threats.
Drumgrange supplies and supports the XERES Marine Interdiction in service with the Royal Navy. The system incorporates automated navigation, position tracking, long-range video and data links between a command vessel and deployable remote assets, including interdiction craft and boarding parties.
The company excels at providing innovative integrated solutions, as demonstrated by the recent award of the MoD contract to develop and install a precise navigation system for the Royal Navy Mine Counter Measure Vessel (MCMV) Flotilla. The contract includes a comprehensive Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) element to run for 15 years.
Drumgrange has a long history of successful army and RAF contracts. Building on the company's expertise in land-based military communications, Drumgrange has provided a system of switchable fixed-communications bearers running between key unit locations within the UK for connection to Ptarmigan and Euromux trunk assets. The company also provides specialist support, software interfaces and test tools for a range of current and new army communications systems and protocols at the Land Systems Reference Centre (LSRC) at Blandford.
Demonstrating its ability to source the best equipment for the job, the company is supplying 2,500 2kw portable diesel generators to the Army and night-vision aids to the Royal Navy.
Drumgrange's training systems - CBT, skill and emulation trainers - are in service with the UK Army and Royal Navy.
Drumgrange Quality Assurance is recognised and approved in the UK as meeting the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and TickIT. This registration covers all of the company's activities.
