CENTRAX: MANUFACTURE OF HIGH-QUALITY MACHINED COMPONENTS AND SUPPLIER OF GAS TURBINE-DRIVEN GENERATOR SETS
Centrax Ltd has over 58 years of experience in the gas turbine field and now specialises in two principal areas: its Centrax Turbine Components Division offers a comprehensive manufacturing facility to the global gas turbines marketplace, and its Centrax Gas Turbine Division manufactures power-generation packages in the 2.6 to 8Mwe range.
With this experience, the engineering departments work closely with their customers to improve current products and to develop those of the future.
The Turbine Components Division (TCD) specialises in compressor and turbine aerofoils, discs, shafts, casings, and associated hardware including sub-assemblies and engine modules.
TCD is an approved supplier to many of the major Original Equipment Gas Turbine Engine Manufacturing companies (OEMs) world wide for civil and military aerospace and industrial gas turbines applications, as well as for military auxiliary power units.
Since it was founded in 1946, Centrax has developed innovative state-of- the-art machining techniques, currently utilising a range of CNC machining technology and robust production management methods to provide a world-class manufacturing solution.
Centrax holds current approvals from OEMs throughout the world as well as ISO9001, AS9100 and ISO14000.
Centrax TCD can offer very competitive terms for complex hardware as well as enhanced supply-chain management of its customer's requirements.
The Gas Turbine Division (GTD) manufactures gas turbine-driven Co-generation/CHP sets of their own design, and has installed and now maintains more than 250 units throughout Europe with 10 strategically located service depots.
It also maintains the CX600 stand-by generator first designed by Centrax Ltd in the 1960s.
The CX510 Co-generation/CHP sets are based on the Rolls-Royce Corporation 501 series industrial gas turbines, which are the industrialised versions of the T56 aero engine used to power such aircraft as the Lockheed C-130 Hercules.
The generator sets are extremely well suited to the demands of combined heat and power and are prominent in the European market with installations in the paper, food-processing, chemical, manufacturing, ceramic and petrochemical industries, as well as public utilities, hospitals and universities. Other applications include stand-by, peak lopping and installations producing electrical power from landfill gas.
